Viva Residence is located on the northeast coast of the Dominican Republic in the stunning Bahia de Cosón in Las Terrenas-Samana, world famous for its turquoise blue sea and golden sands characteristic of this part of the island, surrounded by its typical coconut trees and tropical vegetation. In addition to the beautiful green mountains that make up the Cordillera del Nordeste.
The town of Las Terrenas is only a few miles from Viva Residence. Formerly a small fishing village defined for its natural beauty, it has become a major tourism destination and attraction- for many reasons:

It is only 10 minutes (approx.) from the village of Las Terrenas, 1 hour and 30 minutes from Las Americas International Airport, and 20 minutes from Samana International Airport "El Catey".

- The Samana Peninsula is blessed by natural beauty and contagious charm.
- In Punta Balandra, Samana you can visit the Centro de Observación Terrestre de Ballenas where you can observe the humpback whales that visit each year the Samana Bay to mate, give birth and nurse their young. .
- Boat trips are available to see humpback whales from mid- January to mid- March. The whales come to the waters of Samaná in winter to mate after crossing the ocean.
- In the village of Las Terrenas you can find Pueblo de los Pescadores offering diverse nightlife options, the place is made up of old cabins that have been transformed into fine and exquisite restaurants and bars with wooden terraces overlooking the ocean. It has become a renowned destination where you can enjoy an innovative gastronomic experience with Asian, Spanish, Italian restaurants, among others.
- In the village of Las Terrenas you can enjoy a vibrant nightlife and offerings,shopping and buying local crafts.
- Sanchez is a city where fishing is considered the most important activity in the area and stands out for its seafood, especially shrimp. The area is very rich in fish due to deposits taken by the Yuna River and also for its immense vegetation.
- The National Park Los Haitises offers stunning panoramas of calcified hills, caves, mangroves and the natural habitat of sea turtles and birds.
- Paraíso Caño Hondo was created as an extension of Los Haitises National Park and is one of the 10 best ecological destinations in the world. They have different activities and excursions for nature lovers such as: kayaking tours, birding, swimming pools, nature walks, horseback riding, among others.
- The beaches of Cayo Levantado as well as Bahia Rincon, Rio San Juan and Las Terrenas are very lovely palm fringed beaches.
- In addition, you can also visit the waterfall El Limon, which has a drop of 50 meters and through which you arrive along side mango and cacao plantations.
Excursions:
We have an extensive menu of activities where guests can enjoy the natural treasures offered by the Samaná Peninsula, including:
- Haitises National Park: A day long boat trip where you will discover the most beautiful natural reserves of the country. There you will be able to find cedar, mahogany, and mangrove forests. Nature lovers can watch the incessant pelicans, frigate birds and vultures show. You could take a dip in the natural pool of the cave La Pesquera and visit the famous caves of the Indians where the pictographs will be explained in detail.
- Humpback Whales: From long ago these whales come from the north to fall in love and give birth in the Bay of Samaná. A few meters from the boat you can observe the jumps of these beautiful creatures, measuring about fifteen feet and weighing up to 60 tons, the whale will offer you an unforgettable show. Enjoy this tour from mid- January to mid- March.
- El Limon: A horseback ride through the forest leads to the summit of the mountain from where we can appreciate the unique view that puts nature before our eyes, we will take a short walk over the river Limon to the foot of the waterfall the tour ends with a delicious dip in the spa that nature has created just for you.
- Cayo Levantado: a small portion of land located in the northeastern coast of the Dominican Republic in the Samana Bay. Also known as "Bacardi Island" it is the primary destination for all tours of the village of Samana, which is a good place for diving, fishing and sailing, among others. It has rainforest vegetation, with beautiful white sand beaches and crystalline waters.
